Ijûin is a rather odd character, one who loves love and is passionate about his job. When Zero and Ichi first enter his class and immediately request to sit next to Nina, he says to himself that it must be love, clearly pleased with the idea. Ijûin has a crush on the school nurse and goes to great lengths to impress her.
